I've been managing a few GBP profiles for a while, and I'm trying to get a clearer picture of how the appointment link performance is tracked. Specifically, I'm wondering if clicks on the appointment link (from GMB) are included in the "Web Clicks" metric within GMB Insights, or if they are tracked separately.

Has anyone here tested this, or does anyone know how Google handles these appointment link clicks in their reporting?

Hi @nikkomachine, are you using a third party for your appointments, in other words when someone clicks on the appointment link, do they go to a different website? To the best of my knowledge, Insights does not track Appointment link clicks. If the user clicks on the Appointments link and it goes to your or your client's website, it would be a rather straightforward matter of adding UTM parameters to the appt link and then tracking using Google Analytics. Similarly, if you are using a third party for your appointments, the third party would typically need to provide you a link that includes UTM parameters and then the third party would provide you the number of clicks coming from the GBP. Hope this is helpful!

Thank you for the response @JeffClevelandTN!

Yes, I’m using UTM tags on the appointment link, which directs users to our website. I just wanted to clarify whether Google Business Profile records clicks on the appointment link under the "Web Clicks" metric in GBP Insights or if these clicks are tracked separately.

Based on what you mentioned, it seems like GBP Insights doesn’t count appointment link clicks as part of "Web Clicks." I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing any additional tracking from GBP itself.

Yes, you are correct, the Appointments link is not included in the Web Clicks metric. I should have mentioned that in my answer too. BTW, I noticed you are from the Philippines, my Mom is Filipino :).

Mag-ingat ka!
