Hello all..

Let me first of all thank everybody in the community for this super informative board and Linda for managing this and approving my account )) . I have this forum as a pinned tab and so far found answers to all my questions i had, but now I'm a little confused.

I have 2 questions that probably can be pretty easy for some of you and may be you can give me some insight.

1. Schema markup - I have a business client with 2 actual real locations in different cities and pages/URLs for both locations. We also have both addresses in the footer sitewide. So the question is: should I add schema markup to in the footer like this

http://easycaptures.com/fs/uploaded/775/0912512718.png and this http://easycaptures.com/fs/uploaded/775/3551333552.png

and google tells me "All Good" or that'll cause confusion to google's smart algo and i should add the markup on appropriate location pages only?

2. I know there was a way described in this forum to find out if a business is under a local penalty or not, but Google closed that hole. Any other ways to determine that? Organic penalties are pretty straightforward and can be easily determined. I have one business that dropped from maps almost completely in November (almost the same time as Penguin), but the organic listings remained and even improved a little. Another business dropped both organically and in maps in May 2014 (payday loan update?), but recovered partially in Maps only in December 2014. No sign of organic recovery.

They want us to take over but I'm assuming I'll get a lot of headache with this, unless I can determine what are the issues with these two accounts.

Any help is much appreciated!!

Thanks

Hi Gulliver and welcome!

For the Schema Q this may help: <a href="http://www.localsearchforum.com/local-seo-ranking/13952-schema-localbusiness-vs-business-category-tag.html">Schema: Localbusiness vs business category tag</a>

For the penalty Q this may help:

I specialize in ranking troubleshooting and can usually find the problem, but you'd need to request help down in the help forum and provide a link to the listing so we can research.
