Agree it is disappointing after finally getting years of one messaging solution from Google. As the other questions here show it's important to understand what CTAs/options belong to what service ... always confusing. But the CHAT icon and messaging CTAs in the Profile are going away at the end...
Huge thanks to @Allie Margeson and Hava Ha at Whitespark. Hava has access to the test of Google's Business Messages on desktop for the Chat button. They provided me with multiple screenshots of the chat enabled on our own website as well as our clients. I wrote a summary: Google's Business...
@JS Girard - are you logged in to your agency account when seeing this? I'm unable to produce on desktop with your examples or others I have tried this weekend. Thanks
I don't have any exact findings on the % or ranking impact bump. I do know that Google is frequently asking for feedback from chats from the consumer, just a thumbs up or down (attached), in addition to knowing the response timing. Will keel an eye on it as we roll Leadferno's integration out...
Hey Tom- We have Google Business Messages integrated into our shared messaging inbox with SMS and FB Messenger, we haven't connected any chat bots though. We've found based on volume and context that it's best to have a live agent answer the chats. But I can see why a large brand might go that...
Hi Elizabeth- Thanks for the question.
Our app is both iOS and Android for the business to use/manage/text, the consumer is just communicating through their own messaging/SMS app. We currently are integrated with Facebook Messenger and in the process of Google Messaging. We haven't looked at...

A couple things that we see in those switching from live chat to texting from the website are:
1. More interactions - text is easier/familiar and aids in...
Fun post. Totally agree, any way you can get customers into a loop to talk to you is a win even QR codes.
1. What I have found is the last thing you want to rely on is the content on the card. Use the card as an "activator" that you or your staff hands off in person with the ask for the...
No surprise I heavily agree with Mike's post a few back. Now that a few details have surfaced here is my super simplified take.
1- Google is no longer showing review snippets for local businesses. No matter the "source" if you put it on your own website.
2- Google is removing the stars in the...
I would say that is incorrect.
Google' Review Snippet Guidelines have this item: "Sites must collect ratings information directly from users and not from other sites."
So "repurposing" 3rd party reviews that have been sourced directly by that site and already marked-up at that site ... is...
Marking up 3rd-party reviews on your own/business's site is already against TOS, so I don't see that as the answer. I'm hoping to get some clarity to a few questions. As usual their is a lot left in the gray areas on this update.
