To @ElizabethRule 's point, I can see some scenarios where it could be a nice touch of creativity. But I would NEVER use AI to try to pass as an actual image of a business or product. Creativity's fine, tricking potential customers is not.
Interesting, okay thanks for checking Joy! Hours are a little all over the place for the SABs in my screenshots. The first one I looked at "BAM!" open 24 hours... as I went down the list, some were open an hour or two longer some an hour or two shorter. I'll certainly keep an eye on that and...
Is anybody else noticing an increase in rank from Service Area Businesses hiding addresses? Over the last month or so I've seen competitors from various locations and industries popping up into the top of map packs. I was wondering if one of the recent Algo updates may have impacted this, as I...
Ya definitely going to wait to see how it shakes out. I have a client meeting tomorrow though and was planning on saying if it sticks then we'll definitely want to make some major adjustments to the GBP and the site. I'll come back here if I see any big changes.
My rankings are going crazy as well for a few clients. One really interesting thing is for the keyword "water treatment", top ranking profiles always had the primary category of "water treatment supplier" or "water purification company". After the update in some locations, the top 3-5 are now...
We had a company come to us a few weeks ago that straight up said they had hired a blackhat agency with their marketing team knowing very well what spammy link building was and the risk. Like obvious, laughable spammy link building in the span of weeks across multiple domains. After the initial...
I had a profile that was a SAB that dropped completely out of local rankings back in September of last year (most likely related to some algo update or bug as discussed on this forum). To recover from that asap, me and the business owner decided to show the address and classify as a hybrid (even...
@Bas_L @keyserholiday @Phil Rozek Ya it's kind of a lose-lose. I either lose leads now or potentially lose leads later (although later would probably be more significant).
I showed an address for one and it's right back on track (see photo), this one is a very grey-area SAB though. I have...
Hmm. I have 2 SAB clients that have lost all rank but still show up for branded search; One of them I haven't made edits to in at least 6 months. The other I had just changed the primary category from "plumber" to "water treatment supplier" earlier this month. But that's it. Don't know if that helps
Very interesting! Not sure if this is exactly what's happening though with my clients at least. I can see the service area is still outlined correctly when I do a branded search. It's just not showing up at all for any non-banded queries it used to.
I know, I updated my client on everything I know, and ultimately had her make the decision. We originally changed to a SAB around 5-6 months ago. We made the decision to change it back yesterday around 4pm Eastern Standard and you can see we immediately started getting impressions/clicks again
If anybody has the option, I added the address back to one of my SABs and sure enough within hours we're back at the top of local map rankings. This client is a true SAB, but had a home address for a long time. A while back I convinced them to change to a SAB for fear of suspension. We switched...
I've checked with and without geomodifiers from a single point. Out of my two SABs, both have completely dropped out of maps for "service+location" but still show up for branded search.
