Claim Existing GMB listing vs Edit in Google Maps/Mapmaker, then claim?

You cannot claim a location for which a business does not exist and them edit the location. That's against the rules and not a great idea. Best to ensure it has the information for the business when it stopped operations at the old location. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

    Two Law Firms, One Address

It would only be kosher if the local authority on physical addresses has that space listed as a separate suite. If the physical address is just the main address use that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Two Businesses, Two Phone Numbers, One Address

Seems like an odd fit but kosher if run as separate businesses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Google to Tweak Pigeon Algo due to Racial Slurs & Google Map Search???

So is the Local Search algo called Pigeon? I guess I'm not following the reference because there are likely a bunch of algos t that drive Local Search for Maps. It seems that people toss Pigeon around when they're merely referencing a perceived change to the Local Search algo. I suspect...

Huge List: Acceptable NAP Variations for Google Local Citations from Whitespark

I like the idea of the post but the biggest issue not discussed in the post that I saw was ensuring that the street name is spelled out fully whenever possible. And that Suite numbers should be on a line or come before the street number with a #before the suite number followed by a comma then...

If its a verified listing then its purposeful spamming. Otherwise its just spam, either way it violates the rules and is properly removed as such.

Is domain registration privacy an issue for trust or local ranking?

Google is a registrar therefore your private registration info isn't private from them.

They have or are very close to fixing the Reporting side of things after the unification of the Local and MapMaker databases.

Dear Google, Stop Using Business Name as a Local Ranking Factor- Darren Shaw

I don't agree but that's probably because I'm not an SEO. 😆 i m all for Google smashing spam but this debate is very chicken or egg. If a business is called Washington Plummers then if you search for "Washington Plummers" it makes sense to serve up the business as one of the top features.

Google Local Mall Update - Did Google just Change Your NAP?

Linda I think this is a good direction for Google to better identify locations within Malls and similar features. I don't know how this really changes someones NAP consistency since ad you point out the info in MapMaker is just the physical address without reference to a mall. That means Google...

Catagory no longer available on GMB?

Michael what are available categories for you to use related to a scrap metal recycling center in the dashboard?

    Clients listing won't show up

You cannot use a descriptor (ie location) in the name for the Kumho Tyres stores. If some of these are other locations that carry your branded tires then you cannot have a Local page for those locations as the Local page would be for the place carrying the tires. The office is tricky for Local...

    Clients listing won't show up

AllSearch52 you didn't answer my question about the locations. If there aren't branded stores then you'll run into ranking issues and likely no knowledge graph because Google isn't going to reward violations of its policies.
