Nothing in Google yesterday but I did note that our visbility within Bing across our keywords fell off a cliff (almost halved) Not of any great concern as Bing has very small market share in Australia , but was noteworthy.
Yep..........I have been dealing with the same thing in Melbourne and my conclusion has always been keywords in the GMB name. Businesses that barely exist in my business *(guitar lessons) can have no website or commercial presence, no reviews, no GMB activity, poor organic ranking , 10 kms...
I am no SEO expert but , as I have hinted earlier , overall our GMB performance dramatically lags our organic performance vs our competitors .
So even now I have only JUST managed to pass competitors who (based on organic visibility) are 30% weaker organically, have no reviews , no...
It's crazy stuff. I have attached a graph of our "visibility" as per Rank Tracker vs our key competitors - we are up top in green - over the last few weeks for our top 30 keywords averaged out over our geo areas of interest. Back in November we collapsed from mid 50's to mid 30's then...
OMG............all the spammy, barely non-existent businesses are back in the pack worse than ever. A few days ago it seems that more credible , geographically appropriate businesses were starting to dominate the map pack but now we're back to spammy names from 10 miles away outranking us. Our...
We have had the opposite (thankfully) to what happened to us late last year. In that case we were replaced in map packs by unverified listings with GMB names spammed with location/keywords (different to the actual business name in some cases) but this time around we seem to be benefitting from...
I agree - total opposite to what is supposed to have happened in most cases. Businesses that barely exist (no website , no address in some cases) appearing in map packs in place of established businesses with good authority.
I got back in to one pack yesterday by suggesting a business be...
The only consistent thing I am seeing is that the less info in your GMB profile the better. Our business has been replaced in the map pack almost entirely by businesses that are much farther away from the search point (up to 15 miles further in some cases = totally irrelevant to the search) ...
One thing I didn't mention is that the one "business" that is now dominating our area (guitar lessons) has a GMB listing as "Guitar Lessons + suburb" which isn't the name of the business - he doesn't have a verified address or a link to his website (under the real name).
I don't think...
We're on the way down again after a slight recovery (In music lesson space too). There is only one thing that is clear and that's that the business with the dodgiest GMB profile and the highest Moz spam rating I have ever seen is powering ahead at all time highs and expanding his geographical...
I originally thought it might have been a hyperlocal thing but (ironically) the local competitor who has come through this totally unscathed is:
- miles away and still ranking well within a 10 mile radius (we have only held up within < 1 mile)
- has an unverified GMB account with no exact...
