I just got a call from a client in real estate and they had a drop to 0 over the past few days. They changed their description so we'll see if it was a penalty and or bouncing around for now.

New competitor in a local luxury niche buying up donor/sponsor/grant links and jumping high up quickly...I imagine it'll drop within a month or two.

Without a doubt. I usually setup an email to go out thanking the client for this and that and providing a link to our review spots and to leave their honest opinion as we value it immensely.

I've personally seen a lot of EMDs ranking quite well in my local verticals.

Re: When will Google finally cracked down and do something about PBN ? Definitely best to just ignore and do what you can to start being better than them.

Metric wise still seems quite useful for gauging client competition.

For local ranking I find keyword + city works quite well as in I don't have to get links as much.
