Founder and owner of the commercial directories: www.mylocalservices.co.uk and www.mylocalservices.com which run across the UK and USA. The UK site has been going since 2005 and the US since 2009.
Also proud creator of the www.trustedtrader.scot platform, which is a non commercial Trusted Trader platform that runs across Scotland, in partnership with Trading Standards, Local Authorities and supported by Police Scotland. It provides a vetted trader service for local residents, which have to abide by a strict code of conduct and where any and all complaints are fully investigated.
It reduces resource strain from Trading Standards, whilst providing a professional platform for tradespeople who were previously hosted on Council or third party sites.
Works in tandem with an offline call centre to support and help more vulnerable residents or those without internet access.
The platform was launched initially with Edinburgh Trusted Trader in 2015, but has since taken on East Lothian, Fife and Renfrewshire Schemes, with more in the pipeline.
Have played and been fascinated with SEO since it was born, yet still caught out by Googles ever changing "features"!
Originally military, then IBM, now officially a crusty old fart that doesn't take life too seriously, gets easily bored with online negativity, but always willing to help and still happy to learn
