Hello everyone,

I’m managing a locksmith client whose Google Business Profile ranks #1 in most of his service areas. However, in 2-3 specific areas, the profile is ranking at #2 or #3, and the client wants to achieve the #1 spot there as well.

I would appreciate any advice on what specific strategies or optimizations I should focus on to improve rankings in those particular areas.

Thanks in advance for your insights and help!

Hello there,

as you have already managed to rank his GBP to 1st position for most of the area. I will suggest try the same strategy for the remaining locations too. find the best keywords for which your opponent businesses are ranking then target the best ones

It's already a good sign that you are ranking at the top spot in most areas, you're on the right track. First thing I like to do is look at the competitors who are ranking higher in those areas – what are they doing differently? They might have more reviews, better citations, maybe they are using features like Q&A or booking options, you should really dive deep into it. Also compare the keywords they are using on their website and GBP.

Regarding keywords, I would also make a thorough local keyword research for underperforming areas to see what's missing in your content. And try encouraging people from those specific areas to give you reviews on your GBP, maybe encourage them with an incentive of some sort, reviews will add more local relevance.

And you can also get backlinks from local directories, news outlets, or business sites specific to those areas. Google loves these signals, and they’ll help improve your authority in those neighborhoods.
