I will go post in the G forum. I didn't get a good feeling that the support team at Google I was speaking with fully understood the issues. To be honest, they thought the dupe was a Google+ page which probably led to more confusion. Thanks for all of the help and guidance!

Well, my two pages finally merged together yesterday. Funny thing, they were still unmerged when I called Google and while on the phone with a rep, they merged together, yet the rep said she did not do anything.. Sounds funny, but I will take it!
