Good question. It's on my list of things to rule out.
I also noticed that when you rank for more keywords, impressions go down. These new keywords aren't ranking high, so average position will go down.
But I appreciate your comment about AIOs. If AIOs are affecting rankings, I would think it...
For Google Business Profiles, I'm seeing a drop around July 8, 2025 in average position in GSC. The average position went back up afterwards but not to what it was before. I looked at a rank tracker tool and it's showing a drop in positions also. Impressions are up and Clicks are down.
Now I'm seeing more increases in organic impressions for LPs starting June 30 and it's for more locations than I was seeing before. Just noting this incase anyone else is also seeing it.
There are multiple ways to do this, but I really enjoy using Postamatic to pull in all reviews for a GBP that I manage into a Google Sheet. And it's free. I use it to document all reviews every once in a while as a backup.
If you're interested, here's the info...

What's interesting is this was for a Google account that manages over 100 locations so we aren't supposed to get email alerts for reviews: https://www.sterlingsky.ca/how-to-get-review-notifications-when-you-manage-over-100-google-my-business-listings/...
Thanks for posting this thread. I wasn't getting them either until today. All of a sudden a ton came through. I had GBP Review email alerts turned on the whole time so now I'm wondering if this was a bug and it's been fixed now?
One is around May 25 and the other May 20.
I've been comparing Location Page impressions to GBP impressions and anytime GBP impressions go up, LP impressions go down.
But this changed at the end of May. LP impressions are going up: one location to pre-DU levels and the other above pre-DU levels.
Hi there, I was doing some research on locations that appear to have been hit by the 2024 Diversity Update. When looking in GSC since May, impressions for some of these locations have increased considerably to pre Diversity Update levels. I was wondering if anyone has seen hints at the 2024...
I like the social media link idea. This is a good option when you're limited.
I'm also worried about tanking the GBP rankings by adding a page that's not indexable.
Thanks Jason!
Thanks for commenting. I appreciate your contribution.
I respectfully disagree that the outbound link chosen for GBP has no impact on GBP rankings: https://www.sterlingsky.ca/does-the-url-you-link-to-in-google-my-business-impact-ranking-in-the-local-pack/
Thanks for popping in. I like those ideas but they aren't options at the moment.
In regards to noindex pages in GBP, I have never seen any Google documentation referencing it either.
