Right, no need to use Search partners for these. Haven't figured out a tried and tried formula, ad there is no bid modifier or any way to "see" inside the AdWords back office that your ads are appearing there. Need to have GMB linked though
It is just part of their location extension in ad AdWords ad. When you create that kind of ad, you have the option to link your GMB account to the ad. The review part doesn't show all the time though.
We do alot of implementation for click to call on sites & hard coding it works best for us. Plugins are great but also slow your site down and need updating.
The actual coding itself is really simple as far as code goes.

The porting issue is a major one we've run into in the past. Also, don't forget about if you want to change call tracking providers....you need to port those #s then as well!
