So I got a bead on this corporate client that wants to bring their marketing into the 21th century. They are in 80 markets nationwide, heres the kicker: they are landscaping and a whole-saler to real estate developers or contractors and they want to get into residential sales.
Their in-market...
So I've tried a few different means to correct information on Factual.
1) InfoUSA's white label Yext doesnt seem to get consistent, timely changes
2) Moz Local seems to have the same issue.
3) Submitting changes directly to Factual. Finding my clients and clicking the "edit" never changes...
Up until this point I have stayed away from Social Media, Webdesign, SEO, and PPC. Local Search only. It is hard enough for my clients to grasp "listings", staying on message and proving deliverables has grown my business quite well.
But it seems as I grow and my clients grow they want a...
Well he is the 2nd largest Pop A Lock franchisee in the US, behind a dude outta Louisiana. But if I dont know if I want google associating me and my businesses with a locksmith listing if there is any chance my accounts get frozen because of a hint of foul play.
Im extremely white hat. And I...
One of my clients has a board member that owns a Pop A Lock business that operates in 6 markets. He asked me to quote him a price to do the local search, but after reading all the stuff on here about locksmiths, I think I should DARE to say no.
I dont have the staff or the patience to deal...
So I dont check the numbers often, only quarterly when I need to report to certain clients.
I am sitting down with an manager prior to a reporting period just to go over some things so he learns what is happening and I learn what the owner wants.
(I have only had this client for a few months...
Also.
When I was compiling the competitors, I did notice the practitioner duplicates. Is it unethical to leave them as duplicates? If Google has two listings "Clinton William J" and "The Law Offices of William Clinton", wouldn't the algo expect both if you are a directory?
It seems a little...
Ok, I am trying this for the first time.
*crosses fingers*
I have collected all the lawyers in my market. Basically I am showing NAP + website.
Now here's the crazy thing, if they do not have a website: I am providing the G+ URL to the business. I considered using each competitors' "avvo"...
If they shut down the map engine, doesnt that mean that business listings are ultimately cut out too?
How does one "add" a new business for a yahoo local search "directory" if geography (a map) isnt a factor anymore?
Maybe if they went with a consumer friendly Factual route were they display...
So my client has three pages on FB. All have same contact info (addy and phone)
1) "Caesar's"
name is incorrect/incomplete
4000 likes
actively managed
all business posts and info go through this page
FB is dragging their feet with the name change.
2) "Caesar's Palace"
name is correct
500...
From what I can tell from the links and the video on cloaking, the main faux pas isnt the multiple domains but content manipulation. wal-mart.com isnt providing something different than walmart.com (main). It is merely a redirect. Its not providing unique content to the googlebot vs the main...
So URLs that point are bad?
I got a client that is looking to get a website for the first time and the question of URLs is popping up.
We have plenty of options with the URL including one that I thought was great. Going through the Moz breakdown of the algo, geographic keywords in the URL...
Might as well add Real Estate businesses in there too. Many real estate agencies are brokerages with multiple agents that fit in the practitioner definition.
One specifically had 20 agents in the agency. The main listing went from top 5 in the market to 3rd page. =/
