It's very simple. Let's take "shoe polish" as keyword.
As the attached image shows the blue title of every snippet (title tag of site or "self contructed" by G from text parts) contains "shoe polish".
Hi,
of course it's not a diligent and really advisable way of rating the competition, but as a quick and dirty way: How useful is the appearance of the keyword in SERP-titles as an indicator for the strength of competition for this keyword?
For example, there is small niche keyword with only...
Thanks.
So do I interprete JM correctly, that font size has changed? But from 600px down to 520px (using present online tools), this is a lot and probably not only due to a "subtle change of font size".
Hi,
many of you may know it: The length of the title tag shown in SERPS is max. 600px, it's not dependant on number of characters. Every expert knows this and every online tool checks the 600px.
But, surprise surprise, most of my title tags, which are 500 to 580px, are truncated! All online...
Interesting thread which recalls my own favor for long homepages, but - if I may contribute my 2 cents - 2277 words is IMHO really too much, by far:
- task of a homepage is to provide an overview and work as a "teaser"
- therefore you can mention a lot of important aspects of your site, but...
Menu links should be readable and recognizable for Google (not hidden, no graphics). I'm pretty sure that Google will then count them, but it is probably not a big ranking factor.
Some months ago I asked John Müller on a webmaster hangout about two internal links on one page, both pointing to...
I would not expect a similar ranking, only because it's a similar blog post in terms of content. Internal linking and backlinks are probably different, just to name two factors. The old post may have gathered a lot of positive user signals, the new one not ect. ect.
Furthermore SE may recognize...
So you would use citation for typical "academic" purposes like
- a comprehensive in-depth article, which informs about the used sources in list of sources beneath the article
- any bibliography
- quotations of experts and famous people in the article
ect.
and proof this citation by a link on the...
That's good news. Especially that it is correct schema code to find a connection within AboutPage to Person, which is already top-level-item. Because finally it's all about Person and its usage of Google for the knowledge graph.
May I ask you one further thing about "citation"?
It's definition...
Hi David,
yes, this helps. Thanks.
The good thing with mentions (and citation) is: Within Person it is very hard to find ways to integrate job qualifications, but on my Aboutme-page I also use AboutPage and within AboutPage it is possible. That's the point.
The base structure on my...
Hi,
may be here are some schema experts.
I'm just creating the schema markup for my aboutme-page. It has the Aboutpage- and the Person-item as basic structure:
"@type": "Person",
"mainEntityOfPage": {
"@type": "AboutPage"
On my aboutme-page I mention several references. Some of them are...
