Re: Are you using GSC for your local data? Tracking your utm's & "Near Me" Queries
Going along with this discussion, here is an article on getting GMB Data into Data Studio. Found via Joys Local Search Tips from Sterling Sky Inc. email newsletter. Enjoy
Re: Pressing that "update" button on WP for plugins or WP itself - how daring are you
"Are you willing to update plugins or wordpress itself if you don't have FTP access?" -No
A few more tips - Before updating a plugin, checkout recent support requests and reviews for that plugin. Plugin...
Apparently, there is now a standalone Android app for managing some of the functions within the Home Service Ads program. See this article from Androidpolice. While I don't have any clients in the verticals of the HSA, I could see how this could be useful to those who use HSA.
I love infographics for helping clients conceptualize concepts such as local search, etc... Found this infographic at Whitespark. Hover over sections to see relationships and how the info flows. Pretty cool.
(I thought we had a section here for these resources, but couldn't find it.)
I'll add one suggestion, https://www.salesgenie.com/. I've used Factual for something similar but on a much smaller scale. Interested to hear what others suggest.
James - Thanks! Since I'm more of a marketer than designer/programmer I try to tread lightly when it comes to modifying something such as the functions file. Making backups, trying it on a staging site has so far saved me from a major issues. Thanks again.
James - Thanks for the useful tip. I tried this on a staging site and it removed the Yoast Schema successfully. While I use Wordpress, I usually avoid making modifications to the function.php file.
My main question is, if there is an update to Wordpress and/or the theme in use, how likely...

James - I didn't think about trying to grab the categories from the API and was going to use Mikes list. Thanks for that idea. Also, I wasn't sure if there might be a down side from trying to replicate the categories.
One of the negative factors from the current categorization is that I end up...
One of the Chamber of Commerce I belong to uses something called Chamber Master, see ChamberMaster - Chamber Membership Management Software. As I understand it, this platform provides Chambers websites and such things as member directories.
When I first joined this particular Chamber, I...
Thanks for providing feedback. A few days ago I went ahead and signed up. While its only been a few days, so far no complaints on my end. They even handle the migration which saves quite a bit of time. Also, they've answered all my questions on a timely manner. After a few weeks and once I get...
Recently I decided to take a look at Flywheel Hosting. This would be for hosting not only for a few of my own websites, but also few clients who might benefit from a change in hosting.
Taking a look at it I see:
1. Its managed hosting
2. Their target market is listed as developers and...
Jim, very helpful article.
For the following, "Google is vetting plumbers and other home service providers in the LA area now. Applicants are briefed on the application process over the phone, and if they choose to proceed they must agree to submit all of their customer-facing employees to a...
