For quite some time Google has showed pending edits to a listing on the Google Maps app on mobile. Tom Waddington noticed yesterday that Google is now showing this on desktop as well.
Pending edits to categories, phone numbers, websites, hours and addresses will show up.
Pending edits to the status of the listing (closed, spam etc) will not. This is exactly how it's been on the Google Maps app since Google updated it in May 2017 to remove pending status updates because it was widely abused. As shown in this screenshot (point #4), users were reporting listings as closed and spam just to get the pending label to show up on their listing. This hasn't been possible for over a year since Google fixed it.
I am seeing pending edits on listings even when I'm not logged in.
