Hi All,

I'm working on a site which is e-commerce in nature, but also has 8 pages dedicated to their 8 respective physical locations.

Let's say we changed the url's of these pages, but also put 301 redirects in place, updated the links on our G+ pages, and updated our citations. Would this have any negative effect on our rankings?

Thanks,
Barry

Hi Barry

Well if you took care about internal/external links and set 30 redirect from an old URL to the new one there should not be any negative effect. Only issue I can imagine is that Google would need a while to index this changes. So even if you'll see a ranking drop it should be temporary.

One additional thing which comes to me is that you can check / set the canonical links in header. From my experience it's alway good to have it.

Cheers,
Chris
