Hi everyone,
I recently came across an issue while managing a Google Business Profile (GBP) through Whitespark. The tool flagged an error stating that the "Plumber" category has 114 services listed — exceeding Google's 100-service limit per category.
The error message explains that while Google's API does not allow a single category to exceed 100 services, they can still exist on a GBP listing.
This raises a question I'd love the community's input on:
Does having more than 100 services listed under a single GBP category actually impact the listing in any way? For example:
- Does it affect visibility or rankings in local search?
- Can it cause any suppression or suspension issues?
- Does Google silently ignore the extra services, or does it cause sync/indexing problems?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated! @whitespark
