I worked for Apple for about a year and they did review acquisition once a quarter. This worked very well for them. When people left the store I was at, a lot of people left all at once. A mass exodus. Yet, somehow, they had everyone replaced within the same week. I believe through this review...
I've seen this as well. Almost all of my client's competitors that rank well have some element of spammy backlinks. I honestly hope Google changes this in the future since I work for a strictly white hat SEO agency.
I don't understand why SEO's put so much value in directories. In my experience, they really don’t move the needle and are a complete waste of time except for the obvious ones, GMB, Yelp, BBB, industry related directories and local directories in the city you’re trying to rank in.
However, if...
This is a great thought and leads me to a realization I had a couple nights ago. A friend of mine was applying for jobs in my hometown and I was helping her find a work environment that would benefit her expertise.
She got an interview at a local club here in Colorado Springs. I did a little...
If you haven't bought Joy's Expert Guide to Local SEO I'd highly recommend it. In this guide, she mentions using the primary phone number as the secondary number on GMB and using the tracking number as the primary. I use this strategy with my clients and they have not lost rank in any way and we...
Hey Rice,

Hey Whiz!
While investing in directories is something a lot of businesses do, in my experience, I haven't seen it move the needle. Quite often services like Yext, Moz Local, and Whitespark miss the niche directory listings that can actually make a difference.
I work with hyperlocal...

I too am confused on the end goal here. For starters your GMB page is not claimed. If you want to make any changes you'll have to claim the profile.
You can do this by clicking on claim this business and following the verification process.
Hey Paul,
I'd be happy to look into this for you. What is the name of your band? If you're following Google My Business guidelines I'd be happy to mark your page as open.
In my experience it is better to have a Facebook page for each location. Multi locational businesses typically have a Facebook, Yelp, and GMB page for each location. The reason I know this is because my company does SEO for 4 different multi locational businesses.
These businesses include a...
Interesting article that Joy Hawkins wrote about on what you're asking about. The whole point to it is that GMB postings do have a mild impact on rank.
Google Posts are low-impact, low-effort tasks. They should be combined with other tasks to help improve Local SEO for a small business.

Good Morning,
Once you've unassociated it the quickest way to have it removed is by having another user confirm that the location is closed permanently. For faster results have a couple people do this and Google will remove the listing quicker.
Enjoy your week! :D
