I had a similar problem recently (link) and and one could help, I'm afraid.

Validate the new GBP if it's not validated yet and work on that. There's to my knowledge, literally no way to undo a merger (there are stories floating around, but they're always about two completely different businesses)

We've had multiple complaints about that and have found no way whatsoever. If the address doesn't exist on the map with the suite number (as oppose to a normal street address with suite number on line #2), you're out of luck.

I tested contractors, electricians and plumbers and couldn't see it. Mind you, half the issue might be Google needing to find appropriate external content, which may be a lot rarer in the general area of services. However, since malls and stores of all types appear be excluded, I'm tempted to...

it's weird because it only does that sometimes. Usually if you search the business by name in the Places interface, the section will be present.

Yeah, I don't think you'll be able to get reviews actually transferred unless a gold product experts is involved. Also, note msot of the articles talking about that are from before Google support took a drastic nosedive in usefulness and competence!
