And we just stopped receiving notifications for messages. Until last week, we used to receive an email every time someone started a conversation on GMB chat. Then this stopped and it doesn't work ever since.
The setting is turned on. The email still has managing rights. It just doesn't work.
I think Google has no clue what they are doing and this is just something random. :)
What does the GMB statistics show? More calls? More requests for directions? Is the spike caused by just some of your listings or they all exploded?
I always use mydomain.com/category/service/ where "category" could be anything that the services have in common.
- It is much more user-friendly;
- It makes it very easy to monitor the traffic to all pages within a category in Google Analytics;
- It allows me to add one more relevant search...
I will have to do it manually, as there is no such (reliable) service for my local market. But, yeah, spending a few hours building citations isn't that bad. I think it would be worth it.
@raellovepie The listing shows if I type in Google the exact name of the listing plus the address like this: "Dental clinic [practice name] str. Example Street, 5, 9000, Varna".
@Cherie Dickey So I just need to think of a good way to explain to my employer that I've done everything right and...
A business with two locations in the same city. First is downtown, second is in a mall.
For more than a year the business had one listing, where the address was for the downtown practice. About 5 months ago, I created a new listing for the second practice, in the mall.
Now, it's been 5 months...
I would say that it depends on the service. If it is one where people cannot make a decision quickly and normally do a lot of research in advance, then a video makes total sense.
Also, I can imagine that video testimonials would attract clicks if they can make it to page 1 in Google SERP.
@Yan...
It took 4 months.
Unfortunately, I was assigned other tasks which took all of my time and at some point I stopped looking at this regularly. I cannot say if it happened soon after we published a location page.
I did ask all employees to "check in" on the profile when they are there. Later...
Anything new on the topic?
A client of mine dropped like a rock. He lost 34% of his positions, according to SEMrush.
I've been working on this site for 2 years. It went from 700 positions on page one, to 3500 ONLY AND BY NOTHINGE ELSE but blogging regularly. We publish 3 articles per month of...
A quick update - about a month and a half later, GSC shows 1000 fewer URLs. There were 4000, now there are 3000.
For now, I am willing to believe that what I did works. It just takes time.
I can confirm, a GMB listing causes traffic to drop. People just rarely click on the link to the site. They find all the information they need right there in the GMB.
I wish GMB Insights showed us more detailed and accurate information so we can actually be sure of this.
