Hi,

I have a client whose business serves the whole of the UK. The website already ranks on pages 1 and 2 of Google for various search terms without any geo-modifiers.

Would creating a Google My Business Local listing help or hinder the rankings he already has?

It's a business with a physical location selling industrial safety products in the UK, so not an online business.

Thanks

Adrian

Hi Adrian,

The rankings he already has are organic, so I don't think that a GMB page would hurt that.

However the GMB listing would likely only help him rank in the city he's located in. (Or closely surrounding) Additionally that kind of query might not even pull a local pack. So there may not be a lot of upside. My initial thoughts anyway.
