Hi, I was wondering if PageSpeed Insights takes 28 days to recalculate if you pass or fail.

Say your website was doing well, then performance dropped so you're not passing - but then, you get your scores back up. Should you be seeing a "Core Web Vitals Assessment: Passed" result after 28 days if you maintain those all-around high scores?

Is it possible to continue to fail even with really high scores?

I have never seen any website have a perfect score. Googlers have stated that Google ignores PageSpeed scores.

Not perfect 100, but if I stay in the green all around, should the assessment be passing?

Is this something I shouldn't really worry about as long as the scores are good and the site isn't slow? or should I still aim to pass?

You don't need to worry about it at all.

There was lots of noise about mobile first, page load speed then EAT and then EEAT and how ranking was going to be affected if you failed to follow the rules. It mostly faded away but is still there in the background

More important is relative page speed. This means getting something on the screen quickly while the rest of the page loads (makes for a good UX - which is what Google really measures). EAT is really just about publishing informative and interesting content that adds value - which is no different to the guidelines that have been around for years.
