Hi folks,

We have a client where one of their listings was randomly de-verified a month or so ago. The only option for verification was the Business Video option, which we have never had success with in the past. (It always gets stuck in processing and Google Support ends up having to verify manually via official documentation, like a business license.)

I submitted a Google Support request for manual review & verification and provided the business license with the name of the company and address; however, I was told that "verification methods are automated with no manual intervention." I was then told that the best option would be the Live Video Call verification from the business location (which I am not at).

Has anyone else gotten this response? I just had a profile manually verified via Google Support a month or so ago so I find the response confusing and wanted to verify it elsewhere. (I was going to post in the community forum but as I understand it, they are really backed up/overloaded with questions at the moment.)

Google is moving more and more to automation. If your video gets stuck in processing it's often because it's too long.

Why can't you do Live Video Call verification from the business location? Have you asked the business owner to help with this?

We have run into this situation a few times and the prevailing issue seems to be that the people who would need to do the live video are tech challenged. I've been able to walk some folks through it but others have struggled. Also, when it's a larger company with multiple locations (sometimes nationwide), they don't typically want to grant access to location managers.

We have also run into issues where live video is the only option when we are creating listings for individual healthcare providers. Besides some of them being tech-challenged, most doctors and healthcare providers don't have time to go through that process, which is why they have asked us to do it.

Can you employ someone local to do the videos? I'm sure there would be a local videographer who could help. It might cost a couple of hundred dollars but it's all tax deductible.
