Changing phone number on individual location GMBs

I have a client who has multiple locations in one large city, and they have been using their 800 number for all of their individual location GMBs. They want to update the phone numbers to be more localized with unique regional area codes. Any concerns with updating their GMBs to these numbers? The plan would be to update their NAP everywhere (website, social, etc). Just wanted to double check, thanks!

That's a good idea overall, and it should go smoothly if you do the work in two whacks: one initial round of work, and then a second one a couple of months later (to pick up most of the straggler listings).

As you mentioned, you'll definitely those phone numbers on the site, and prominently.
