Hey all,

I have a client that was trying to claim their Facebook location. They did the PIN, put the PIN in and Facebook then asked for more business information such as a utility bill, tax id, etc.

Is there any reason why this happened, and is there any way they can avoid it?

Did FB give you an option to verify it via an e-mail (domain email) otherwise a document-verification process is another option? I think it is a security feature to avoid anyone from claiming businesses that they really don't own.

When did Facebook ask for more info? In the pop-up box immediately after entering the PIN or by support in a follow-up private message?

Maybe user error with your client - waiting too long to enter PIN, or something related. Unless you were there of course.

It's a quirky process in my experience, maybe no "authentic external trust factors?"

For ones I've done that did not offer phone PIN, the utility bill was accepted every time, as long as business NAP info matches. They should send you a notification or email about your verification status within a few days.
