I have plenty of clients with confirmed reservations via the BOOK ONLINE button. I can confirm the bookings using Google Analytics but when I look for Booking metrics in the Google Business Profiles Performance tab all I get is zeros.

Just to confirm: when you say you can confirm online booking, this is through a proper full in-GBP integration, right ("Featured Book Button")? Not just a link to an external tool ("Link to your online booking tool") that Google randomly decided to display with the big "Book Online" button?

Google tracks the former, but I'm fairly sure it doesn't track the latter, even in cases when the latter is displayed as though it were the former in the search results.

YES - this is in reference to a Featured book button. Over a year ago, Google turned on the button for several golf tee time reservation companies. I've been writing about this for as long as they turned it on - I'm the guy that discovered it was flipped on for more than 2,000 with no notice. As time progressed we began offering a service around the management of the GBP for golf courses. The UTMs that are tied to the button make it fairly easy for us to track performance using GA but I have never seen anything but zeros when I look at the golf courses GBP Performance metrics.

Your mentioning UTMs immediately tells you are in the second category, not the first, so the answer is that everything is normal. it's annoying, but Google simply does not track clicks on this booking link.

Thanks BUT just want to be clear here - the UTMs I referenced are embedded in the BOOK ONLINE button, per the developer requirements set by Google. IOW, these are not UTMs that my team or others have added to the ends of URLs. These are "hard-coded" from the start.
