Does Google differentiate between capitalization and non-capitalization?

Maybe this is a silly question, but i have read in several articles that Google does not differentiate....but then why do I see 2 different results in my advanced GBP statistics?

Yeah GBP Insights is weird that way. For ranking purposes, no, capitals don't matter but they are reported differently here as you pointed out.
