GMB Posts - Promotional Offers

Specific to GMB, I want to post occasional promotional offers. My questions are -
1. is this a proper and allowed use of GMB?
2. should this be a mix of text and art or can i use art that incorporate both? I assume that text using keywords and some graphics/art is the direction I need to take.
