Hi,

I just want some clarification on keywords rankings...

I am tracking generic and geo-targeted keywords, service + location (town) of the business, but do others monitor keywords of service + location of neighbouring town also?

I can see using BrightLocals location viewer and the keyword analytics from within GMB that the business has been found through service + location of nearby town, but are they worth tracking or should I only focus on keywords in the town the business is located.

Many thanks

Ed

Hey Ed,

If the town is somewhere you want visibility from I would track it.

Hi Colan,

So you would track it even without a location page on their website targeting that area?

It really depends on the goals and what you're tracking but in a general sense sure I would want to.

With Brightlocal it tracks things at the root domain level anyways and there are lots of situations where your homepage can rank in other cities.
