Hello,
The company has an average map ranking of 4.2 for general searches like "appliance repair" within a 5-mile radius. However, it ranks only 17.2 for the specific term "appliance repair Ridgefield." The business itself is in Ridgefield, which is its primary targeted location.
How do you pump ratings for a specific keyword?

Hi! My first thought would be to check the Google Business Profile to make sure that it is using the best category and is *fully* optimized as that will help Google's algorithm when it comes to relevancy of the search term. The second thing I'd evaluate is the business prominence when it comes to the search term (How to improve your local ranking on Google - Google Business Profile Help) ... how is the organic ranking doing?

What state are they in? I want to look into this.

The profile is fully optimized. The steady flux of reviews, categories, updates etc. The website city page ranks #3 on both mobile and desktop.
GBP is connected to the main domain though, but we played connecting it to the city page with no changes whatsoever.

Is the business actually in Ridgefield? I've seen cases where the address is just outside of city limits, which prevents it from ranking well for explicit queries such as "appliance repair Ridgefield".

Here's how I check it: Spoof your location to the address of the business with an extension like gs location changer. Then, go to Maps and search for the city name. You'll see the outline of the city limits and a blue dot showing your spoofed location. Is the dot within city limits?

It's a complicated issue. The Ridgefield cities I found don't have many appliance repair businesses and are showing GBPs in other states. If I can isolate and identify the GBP, I might be able to debug the issue.
