There is a service-area business that operates exclusively in Los Angeles, yet it is ranking in the top 5 results in Queens, NY for multiple keywords.
I have thoroughly checked all relevant factors like website, service areas in business profile, reviews, and even longitude and latitude coordinates, but there is no connection to Queens, NY. The business's service radius on Google Maps is entirely within Los Angeles, and the client has confirmed that they registered and verified the business profile in Los Angeles and has never been to New York.
When I contacted Google Support, they responded by saying that it’s a good thing for the business to rank in additional areas. However, the support representative didn’t seem to understand the logical issue, Los Angeles and New York are on opposite coasts, and ranking in NYC holds no relevance for a local business based in LA.
Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? If so, how did you resolve it?
