I’ve noticed a few spammers that seem to have their keyword stuffed titles in a non-English language field. It feels like this is some kind of exploit or something. It can’t be removed completely and substituted for a title in the English language field. Anyone know anything about this?

That is interesting. The language feature used to pretty straightforward on Google MapMaker (which retired March 2017) but is a bit trickier on Google Maps.

I can't say I have heard of this being used as a spam tactic.

Do you have a live example you can share?

It appears it's been taken down. I have seen others doing this though.
I suspect it may have to do with language settings on the device creating the GMB place initially?
