I have a very specific observation from last year after March update:

Situation> Before March 2023, I was tracking pressure washing near me in detail most of the local companies would rank from 1-3 and then the bog companies from around houston would start ranking. I am located in cypress, TX which is northwest suburbs of Houston. After the update all the local companies vanished from the results and only older website from Houston are now ranking from 1-2 page. (this is specific for "pressure washing near me" search term. "Pressure washing Cypress, TX" however remained not very changed in the results.

This year, I started my Fence staining business and initially, from rank math - did basic schema and kept my page focused on Houston and i was able to climb to top 5 position and was consistent.

Then we implemented schema and also added address on the footer which says Cypress, Tx instead of Houston, TX and from that points the "near me search" for the home page is very inconsistent. Sometimes it will rank top 3 which is acceptable but other times, is vanishes from the results. out of top 10 pages. and the service area page -fence-staining-houston-tx. starts showing up although much lower compared to the home page for same location.

After some research i found that Google considers cypress as a part of houston and this might be throwing off the results. The reason is that i have made service area pages far off from my address and applied same logic but they are consistent on the rankings and some of them have recently claimed above the competition for which the home page is not able to beat.

Also, when home page ranks, most of the leads are coming from cypress regions from website.

I am baffled.

Questions:
Should i display my address in footer? or just delete it.
what map to display in home page? Cypress or houston?
should i mention cypress on home page? anywhere
