Remove Google Business Profile listing

For a client, I want to remove their Google Business Profile. It was originally created under their personal name a few years ago, which is also listed in the business registry. However, there has been a Google Business Profile under their official company name for a long time now.

I understand that it’s quite challenging to completely remove a listing from search results and Google Maps. There are a couple of options:

1. Mark it as "permanently closed", but this still leaves it visible in the results for their address, which is not desirable. Or does it disappear after a few months?
2. Use the European privacy requests: Local listing removals option.

What is the best action to ensure that the business listing is no longer visible?

If I mark the profile as permanently closed, I thought Google would still show it in the listing, right? Or will Google remove it in a few weeks?

Yes, Google typically stops showing the listing after a few weeks, but this shouldn't harm the existing business as the old listing is in a different name.
