Another Google Scam?

A client just received this text to their cellphone:

Google #68872: Your profile has been compromised . Text back --SENDNOW-- when you are able to verify your profile.


​This smells of major scam. Has anyone experienced this before?

My fear is that texting back could initiate the scam.

There are lots of other similar reports just coming in so this could be pretty widespread.
