I had a client today ask me if I've ever heard of Piwik as alternative to using the standard GA reporting tools. She wasn't familiar with the name (nor was I), but it was recommended by another party.
There doesn't appear to be any info on the LocalU forum. A couple of mentions of "Matomo" which is the new name of the former open-source "Piwik", that was free, but nothing on Matomo or the subscription offering Piwik Pro.
Would much appreciate any feedback from those with any practical experience with either Piwik/Matomo or Piwik Pro. I did a little research, just scratching the surface, but both appear to be a complete alternative to using GA for website analytics. Main disadvantages I see with Matomo, is the lack of full integration with Google Ads, Google Search Console, and Google Data Studio (Looker).
