Are cities and zip codes in the footer still a thing?

I thought the following wasn't recommended but I have 7+ competition flower shops that are using this method of listing cities, locations and zip code in their footers.

What do you think about this method? Yay? Nay?

Hey Barb,

I wouldn't recommend putting them in the footer. That gets them on every page on the site. It would be better to have pages specific to different areas if you're trying to rank in other cities.
