Hi, I have a client who is moving their main office on June 30, 2025 from Rockville, CT to South Windsor, CT. We have a notice on the website about the impending move and will update the footer/contact page with the new address once the move is completed. We been making a good number of updates to the clients GBP over the past few months and migrated them to a new website (the new one is on WordPress, the prior one was Joomla, I think) in December 2024. I'm wary of the address change causing a suspension or the need for reverification. My thinking is to update the website with the new address, wait a few days and then update the GBP with the new address. What recommendations are there to change the GBP address to achieve minimal disruption? This is the client's site: https://ctinjurylawyers.com/ Thank you!

I’d recommend updating the footer and contact page with the new address before the move, and definitely before changing the address on your Google Business Profile. Same goes for major citations, social media profiles, and any online directories like the local Chamber of Commerce. The more consistent signals you feed Google about the new address, the smoother the GBP update will go.

Pro tip: Make sure the phone number on your GBP, whether it’s the primary or an additional number, also appears on your website. Ideally, this would be on a dedicated location page or in the footer. It’s a simple trust signal for Google and can help with the address change and any reverification that might follow.
