Having trouble claiming + verifying a client's listing.

It is an apartment community that was sold and rebranded.

The listing is under the old brand name, and the verification options available after claiming are phone and email.

The phone won't work because it has extensions (and can't be disabled), and the email goes to an address that is the old owner (which also doesn't work).

I have been going back and for with GBP support for a few weeks trying to explain the issue and have finally gotten to the verification team.

Sent over tons of photos from the client etc ... but support is not seeming to understand that it's a rebranded business. The signage is different than the name on the listing .. clearly because it's a different brand now.

The latest issue is not being able to "verify my association with the business", its going nowhere and our client is wanting a new listing made.

This is a major problem because it's the same primary category and the same address as the listing we are having trouble claiming = filtering and user confusion.

Do any of the Google Product Experts on this forum have recommendations to get this listing verified?
