Hi everyone! Back with another question. So I have this client who is in a very competitive niche in one of the most competitive cities in the country for that niche. For some time, I have noticed that on the GBP insights tab, a couple of competitors' names appear among the top 10 queries that showed my (client´s) profile on Google search. They have been climbing, meaning, when I first noticed, this other business name appeared in the GBP query profile of my client, let us say, less than 15 times. Now it has shown 50 times (to say some numbers). I understand this metric on its own is not the full story, nor does it tell everything I need to know in terms of my clients' GBP performance, but it is still a metric I pay attention to as it provides quite good insights sometimes.
What could be the reason behind this? Just extremely poor SERP experience from Google (not surprising at all), or, could it be, as in the past, that this other business is doing something tricky to capitalize on my client´s GBP? I know this has been a thing in the past, on which, for example, one business will use another business's name or license or something like that to create fake LSA profiles and very obscure scams like that.
I basically just want to know if I should be on the lookout for something fishy and alert my client, or if, on the contrary, this is not something I should be digging into. Any light anyone can throw on this would be appreciated!
