What is the current best way for moving a service-based listing from one address to another? Proving the address change with registered business documents isn't a problem. It naturally wouldn't pass a video verification as it isn't a publicly accessible location, it is the home of the business owner. We aren't trying to get a published address, just want to ensure the service-based listing is registered with Google under its current correct address, not the old address before they moved home.

I've seen information in the past that says its best to create a second listing and then request a merge with the old listing?

If you just reverify at the new address, your rankings will stay stuck at the old address. I have tested this and can confirm. It’s a weird bug with Google.

Yes, the only way to actually move an SAB listing is to create a new one and then contact Google to ask them to move the reviews. Follow the instructions here: https://www.sterlingsky.ca/move-your-sab-without-destroying-rankings/

But if you don’t care to shift the rankings to the new location, then… I’m not sure. Maybe you don’t need to do anything and just leave it? Paging @JoyHawkins

Yeah I guess you could leave it alone if you don't care about it ranking in the old owner's area. Darren is correct though, you need to contact support if you go the route of creating a new listing.
