Does Google automatically update or make changes to parts of the NAP on the GBP?

Hello,

I originally was gonna enter "#" (for bay number) to match the other businesses at the address but after performing a USPS lookup their website had "Unit". So created the website and filled out the GBP with the Unit as part of the NAP. I was preparing to build out citations and noticed the address on the GBP seems to have been automatically updated to "#". When I go into edit Unit is still in the field as well and also on the business performance monthly email.

How might this affect NAP consistency ? What is the optimal way to approach this ?

NAP hasn’t been a ranking factor in over 6 years.
A. Google doesn’t use suite numbers as part of the ranking factors.
B. You can use various tracking numbers and Google won’t penalize you.
C. You can add keywords to your GBP and not update your other citations and see an uptick in rankings.

You are over thinking it. The suite only matters to you and potential customers looking for your business.
