Are you in the habit of using edit suggestion to dodge revalidation on address changes?

Today I discovered that the GBP suggestion emails, when accepted, are treated like your own edits.

You have to wait the grace period out and let them turn into true edit suggestions before you can accept these edits. Otherwise they will be treated exactly the same as though you had manuellement made the change yourself, which kinda defeats the point of going through edit suggestions in the first palce!

Are you suggesting the edit in maps with a different email account than is on the profile? I would think the more high quality signals the edit gets, the more likely Google is to approve it automatically. Have not tested this myself with address changes, but if it bypasses verification that is pretty impressive.

No, It doesn't matter who has made the suggestion or clicked on the email link. What I mean is that when clicking on "the suggestion is correct", Google performs and saves an owner edit instead of treating it as a suggestion being accepted.

In other words, as far as how Google actually enacts it, you must understand the email not as "do you want to click to accept the suggestion" but rather "someone has made this suggestion, do you want to make that edit yourself"?

The latter is of course a big problem if "making the edit yourself" is precisely what you were trying to avoid!
