GBP Appointment link: Value in linking to site vs 3rd party booking app?

Hi, I searched for this answer, but didn't see a post, so my apologies if this is a duplicate.

Is there any value in linking to say a contact page or a page with the calendar embedded for appointments vs directly to a 3rd party booking app?

We tag the appointment URL with UTM parameters and for most businesses they do drive conversions when users click on the appointment link. So I think the question is, what is the benefit of having customers convert on someone else's property versus yours?
