We recently set a new GBP for a carpet cleaning client in Ventura CA. It was a legit commercial office with signage and all required docs. During the setup no option was given to enter a physical address - only a service area. He was verified immediately. No video required, no phone, no postcard, no text. Has anyone experienced this recently? (All of our other SAB clients have had to jump through some crazy hoops.)

Did you use a domain email? Sometimes that can provide enough authority to get a profile auto verified, among other factors. If not, Google must really trust the business!

Yes, we did use a domain email. We do use domain emails with many of our clients. I'm not sure why Google love's this one so much.

I wasn't sure if this was a sign of things to come for SABs or if this was just a special case.

A domain email goes a long way, in my opinion. It also sounds like this is a very legitimate business that Google would have internal information on, which helps as well. They might even qualify for a storefront listing.

I’m not sure exactly why you weren’t given the option to add an address. It could be category related, or it might be based on what you entered during the verification workflow.
