Hi Local Search Forum,

I’ve been working in the local SEO space for over five years across a wide range of industries — B2B, education, healthcare, industrial, retail, and more. One trend I’ve noticed is that home services businesses seem to be the most prone to Google Business Profile suspensions. I’m talking about industries like HVAC, plumbing, garage door repair, etc.

What’s confusing is that these aren’t obviously risky listings. In many cases, the business is fully established with permanent signage, a legitimate office accessible to both customers and employees, photos of the space, accurate NAP information that matches the website, real reviews, real images, and no keyword stuffing or other spam signals.

I also don’t get the sense that these businesses are being targeted by disgruntled former employees or competitors flagging the profiles. A lot of these suspensions seem to happen out of nowhere, which has made me wonder whether Google simply applies a much higher level of scrutiny to the home services space.

Has anyone seen anything from Google, recent updates, or industry news that would support that idea? I’d be interested to know whether others have noticed the same pattern.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thanks,
Aaron
