GMB image optimization - Worth it?

When I upload an image to my website, I make sure to rename the image accordingly for best seo results. I also add a few alt attributes and geo tag the photo.
I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is the case for GMB photos? Does geo tagging and adding alt attributes stick when uploading photos? Or is this information all stripped from the photo when uploaded?

@SeoNoob This comes up from time-to-time. Short answer: EXIF data on photos uploaded to GMB has no ranking effect.
