What are your favorite tools to rank higher on AI?

With AI responses, it is difficult to find repeatability in response, so how do you measure effectiveness of any strategy you use to rank higher on AI?

There is no tool I would recommend for this - just looking at the SERPs and testing things to influence what businesses show up in the AI overviews and AI local packs. We use Yext Scout for rank tracking and it'll track AI results on Google. But keep in mind you can't track these like traditional rankings as the results are much more random.

It is also a lot different than trying to rank in organic search or the traditional map pack - it's a whole new frontier that we are all testing and learning. We actually put out a video on this recently that will be worth checking out.

Thank you @ElizabethRule

Count instead of rank and the randomness turns into something you can read. Write down the questions a customer would actually ask, with the city in each one, then put every question to ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini in a new chat. 6 questions across the 3 gives you 18 answers, and between runs a move of 1 or 2 of those 18 is normal for us. 3 or more is where we go looking for a reason.
