The Google Local Services prolist endpoint appears to have suddenly stopped returning any results. Previously, this endpoint was working correctly and was returning local business listings without any issues. The URL that used to work is:
https://www.google.com/localservices/prolist?src=2&q=lawyer&hl=en&gl=us
As of now, regardless of the parameters used, the page returns no listings and only displays the message: “Try using different filters or searching in another area.”
I have tested this behavior extensively across different scenarios. I tried multiple geographic locations, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Turkey. I also tested different service categories and search queries such as lawyer, plumber, electrician, locksmith, as well as localized queries like “avukat” for Turkey. In addition, I experimented with simplifying and modifying URL parameters, updating timestamps, and removing optional parameters to rule out parameter-related issues.
The issue does not appear to be environment-specific. I tested using different browsers, private/incognito sessions, different IP addresses, VPN connections, and fresh browser profiles. In all cases, the result was the same: no listings were returned.
All tested URLs consistently return an empty result set, even when using minimal and commonly accepted parameters that previously worked without problems.
Given that this endpoint was functional until late 2025 and started failing around January 2026, I would like to understand whether this change is intentional.
Specifically:
Has Google officially discontinued or restricted access to the /localservices/prolist endpoint?
Is there any public announcement, documentation, or changelog explaining this behavior?
What is the recommended and supported way to retrieve local business or service provider data going forward?
